Terms of Use

Last updated: October 1, 2026

These terms govern your use of the TrustTrace platform. By using the platform you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. Who we are

TrustTrace is a private agency providing fraud documentation, database, and support services. We are not a government department, a regulator, a law enforcement agency, an insurer, or a debt-collection or asset-recovery business. We have no legal power to compel any person or organization to return funds, and nothing on this platform should be read as implying otherwise.

2. Our services

  • Accepting and reviewing fraud reports;
  • Maintaining a searchable database of reported scam contact points;
  • Publishing review-status-labelled warnings about those contact points;
  • Providing general guidance and referrals to appropriate official channels;
  • Where you ask, assisting you to prepare documentation for banks, exchanges, or police.

Reporting is free of charge. If TrustTrace ever offers any paid service, it will be presented with transparent pricing and terms in advance, never billed to you unexpectedly, and never represented as a guarantee of recovery. No employee or partner is authorized to demand payment to “release”, “unlock”, or “recover” funds — treat any such demand as fraud.

3. Your obligations

  • Provide accurate information to the best of your knowledge;
  • Do not submit reports you know to be false, misleading, or made to harass or defame;
  • Do not upload unlawful content, malware, or personal information of third parties that is not relevant to the report;
  • Do not attempt to access accounts, cases, or data that are not yours;
  • Do not use automated tools to scrape, overload, or interfere with the platform.

4. Reports are allegations; moderation

Public entries reflect information submitted by users. Until our analysts complete a review, an entry is an unverified allegation and is labelled as such. Reviews can confirm, dispute-label, or remove entries. We moderate for accuracy, abuse, duplication, and privacy, and we honour corrections and disputes. Publication of an entry is not a finding of illegality by TrustTrace or any court or authority.

5. No guarantees

Submitting a report does not guarantee that lost funds can be recovered, that an investigation will be opened, or that any particular outcome will occur. Guidance we provide is general information, not legal or financial advice.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TrustTrace is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of the platform, from reliance on public entries, or from actions taken by third parties based on report information. We do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Intellectual property & acceptable use

The platform's design, text, and branding are owned by TrustTrace. You may share links to public pages; bulk copying of the database is not permitted. Scam indicators you submit may be retained, analyzed, and published in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Canada and the province of our principal place of business, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your province.
