Not a government service

TrustTrace is a private agency. We are not a government department, not a law enforcement agency, not a financial regulator, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, the RCMP, or any other government body. We do not hold ourselves out as having any investigative or enforcement powers we do not in fact possess.

No recovery guarantee

Submitting a report does not guarantee that money can be recovered. We do not guarantee a successful investigation or any financial outcome. Statements on this platform about process and possibilities are general information, not promises.

Paid services, if any

Reporting to TrustTrace is free. If we ever offer paid services, they will carry transparent pricing and terms presented before any commitment. No payment to TrustTrace — or to anyone claiming to act for TrustTrace — should ever be understood as purchasing a guaranteed recovery. Treat any person who guarantees recovery for a fee as fraudulent and report them.

Public entries are allegations until verified

Database entries shown as “Reported” reflect unverified submissions from users and may be incomplete, mistaken, or submitted in bad faith. They are not findings of fact or determinations of illegality by TrustTrace, any court, or any authority. Only entries carrying a “Verified Warning” label have completed our internal review. Absence of an entry does not mean a website, company, or individual is legitimate. We provide dispute, correction, and removal procedures on every public entry.

No legal, financial, or investment advice

Content on this platform, including the Resource Centre, is general information. It is not legal, financial, investment, or tax advice, and no solicitor-client or advisory relationship is created by using this platform. For advice about your specific situation, consult a qualified professional.

Third-party links

We link to official Canadian resources (Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, RCMP, provincial regulators, and others) for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or availability. Links are clearly marked and never imply endorsement in either direction.
